Omst llning av verksamhet och kompetensv xling f r att m ta teknikskiften, nya kundgrupper och en fortsatt kande andel mjukvaruutveckling.

Ericsson avser dra ner omkring 3000 tj nster inom produktion, Forskning och Utveckling (FoU) och f rs ljning och administration - kombination av frivillig avg ng, neddragningar och andra alternativ s som outsourcing.

Ericsson avser att g ra betydande neddragningar i verksamheterna i Bor s och Kumla, i linje med bolagets produktionsstrategi att koncentrera produktionen till f rre antal siter globalt samt fortsatt arbete med partners.

Ericsson avser under de kommande tre ren nyanst lla cirka 1000 FoU-tj nster i Sverige prim rt fr n h gskolor och universitet f r att st tta f retagets kompetensuppbyggnad inom nya teknik- och kundomr den.

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) har under flera r drivit en omst llning av bolaget f r att m ta snabba teknikskiften och digitaliseringen b de inom telekomindustrin och andra branscher. Bolaget har ven aviserat omfattande globala kostnads- och effektivitets tg rder. Idag meddelas de f r ndringar som avses g ras i Sverige vilka fr mst p verkar produktion, delar av FoU samt koncern- och supportfunktioner.

Det r ett tufft besked vi ger medarbetare i Sverige idag och vi har stor respekt f r den oro detta skapar. Dessa tg rder r n dv ndiga f r att s kra Ericssons l ngsiktiga konkurrenskraft och teknik- och tj nsteledarskap. V rt fokus r nu att p b sta s tt ta hand om v ra medarbetare i denna omst llning och st tta de som tyv rr kan komma att beh va l mna Ericsson att snabbt hitta nytt jobb.

Ericsson har i dag cirka 16000 anst llda i Sverige och den f reslagna neddragningen omfattar cirka 3000 tj nster, varav cirka 1000 inom produktion, cirka 800 inom FoU samt cirka 1200 inom vriga verksamheter.

Detta inneb r att Ericssons verksamheter p f ljande orter i Sverige kommer att p verkas: Bor s, G teborg, Karlskrona, Kumla, Link ping och Stockholm. Ericsson avser att g ra betydande neddragningar i verksamheterna i Bor s och Kumla. Verksamheterna i Lund, Lule och Kalmar p verkas inte av dagens besked.

F retaget avser att l sa minskningen av antalet tj nster genom en kombination av frivillig avg ng, neddragningar och andra alternativ s som outsourcing. Ericsson avser ven att g ra generella neddragningar och minska externa kostnader, fr mst genom att minska antalet konsulter i Sverige med cirka 900, men ocks genom att minska generella omkostnader.

Ericsson har fortsatt att driva f r ndringar inom sin globala FoU-verksamhet f r att ka effektiviteten, optimera verksamheten och koncentrera den p f rre antal FoU-center globalt. Ericssons FoU i Sverige r k rnan i f retagets utveckling inom radioteknik och n sta generations system, 5G. Ericsson har gjort investeringar om 7 miljarder SEK i tre globala ICT-center som st ttar FoU-verksamheten och kommer att utg ra bas f r nya digitala aff rsmodeller. Tv av dem ligger i Sverige, i Rosersberg och i Link ping, vilket st rkt Sveriges roll som plattform f r Ericssons FoU.

Vi har ett tydligt m l att v r forskning och utveckling i Sverige ska vara v rldsledande, inte minst inom n sta generations system, s ger Strategi- och Teknikchef Ulf Ewaldsson. P kort sikt beh ver vi minska antalet FoU-tj nster, fr mst inom administrativa roller. Samtidigt har vi f r avsikt att ta in ny kompetens inom nya teknikomr den. D rf r avser vi att under de kommande tre ren rekrytera cirka 1000 ingenj rer, prim rt fr n h gskolor och universitet.

Tillverkning inom telekom har genomg tt stora f r ndringar det senaste rtiondet med mindre produkter och en mer effektiv produktion - tillverkningstiden per radioenhet r mer n halverad. H gre volatilitet i produktionsvolymer har kat behovet av flexibilitet varf r partnersamarbeten f r volymproduktion blivit allt viktigare. Ericssons egen tillverknings-verksamhet koncentreras till f rre orter.

Kostnaderna inom f rs ljning och administration minskas som ett resultat av den nya f retagsstruktur som introducerades den 1 juli 2016 i syfte att skapa en mer effektiv och ndam lsenlig organisation f r att m ta behoven hos olika kundsegment och snabbare utnyttja aff rsm jligheter.

F rhandlingar med de fackliga organisationerna om de f reslagna tg rderna p g r. Neddragningsprocessen kommer att ske stegvis - processen g llande majoriteten av verksamheten ber knas vara klar under f rsta kvartalet 2017. Processen som ber r verksamheten i Bor s och Kumla ber knas vara helt klar andra halv ret 2017.

Ericsson avser forts tta diskussionen med de lokala fackliga organisationerna kring behovet av utveckling, flexibilitet och omst llning.

Om Ericssons kostnads- och effektivitetsprogram

Kostnads- och effektivitetsprogrammet, med m let att spara SEK 9 miljarder under 2017, fortskrider enligt plan. Ut ver detta meddelade bolaget den 19 juli 2016 att bolaget initierat tg rder f r att ytterligare minska de rliga r relseomkostnaderna, exklusive omstruktureringskostnader, till SEK 53 miljarder under andra halv ret 2017. Detta kan j mf ras med SEK 63 miljarder f r hel ret 2014, och inneb r en f rdubbling av det tidigare besparingsm let f r r relseomkostnaderna. Samtidigt meddelade bolaget att man avs g att intensifiera aktiviteterna f r att minska kostnaden f r s lda varor och anpassa verksamheten till en svagare marknad f r mobilt bredband.
