Preco are pleased to announce that Sky News Radio has invested in a Logitek Remora digital audio mixing console, from Preco. The Remora has been installed in Sky News' state of the art Millbank studio, Westminster.Sky News Radio delivers national and international news to over 300 commercial stations, with over 34 million listeners per week tuning into stations carrying Sky News Radio bulletins.
Sky News Radio technician, Derek Cole commented: We wanted something simple, straightforward and easy for journalists to operate when interviewing. We will be using the Remora in conjunction with a Netia newsroom system, allowing a London-based reporter to come in here, produce and edit material and send this as a completed file to our studio in Osterley. The studio can also accommodate two or three guests for remote interviewing from Osterley, in which case the Remora is switched to automatic mode.
Logitek's Remora has a modular architecture, allowing easy expansion from four to 10, 16 or 22 faders. Each fader has controls for output bus selection along with a talkback switch, cue switch and a button for activating input selection changes to the fader. GPI connections are available on the unit's external power supply. A stereo LED meter indicates level plus instantaneous peak for the selected source.
The Remora control surface is designed for use in traditional or split configurations. It can be secured to a desk or table top but is completely self-contained so does not require a cutout for mounting. Connections for 12 GPI inputs and 12 GPI outputs are provided on the external power supply chassis.
