Liverpool 4-1 Cardiff Liverpool are top of the Premier League after seeing off Cardiff at Anfield on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah sneaked in to polish off the opener after a brace of shots had been blocked away by the Cardiff defence.

Virgil van Dijk's speculative header then very nearly made it two as it bounced back off the post.

The visitors' inability to clear was again punished on 65 minutes when Sadio Mane was given time and space to plot his finish in front of the Kop.

The visitors were reduced to ten men, though, when Mark Noble became the visitors' most red-carded player after a rash challenge on Ndidi left referee Michael Oliver with no option before the break.

Ndidi's speculative long-range effort in the 89th minute then deflected in off the hapless Balbuena to leave the shares spoiled in the East Midlands.

Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth Bournemouth thrashed Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday thanks to a double from striker Callum Wilson.

Wilson popped in a 14th-minute penalty to put the visitors ahead, after being felled clumsily in the box by Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

The Cherries were assured of their impressive start to the season continuing when youngster David Brooks added the second in the 70th minute.

Brooks was then the victim of a counter-attack-preventing foul by Kevin McDonald, with the home captain sent off for his trouble.

And Wilson breezed through to add a late third to deepen the relegation concerns in west London.

Watford 3-0 Huddersfield Watford increased the relegation pressure on struggling Huddersfield with a three-goal battering at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Roberto Pereyra took advantage of the Terriers' non-existent defending to waltz through and poke the hosts into an early lead.

Gerard Deulofeu repeated the tricked when he skipped past the Halloween zombies in blue and white before picking out a beauty of a far-post finish.

And the Hornets polished off their sorry visitors when Isaac Success foced in the third to continue their unlikely European push.

Brighton 1-0 Wolves Glenn Murray was yet again the Brighton hero as they snatched a valuable win over Wolves at the AMEX Stadium.

Bang on the head the other week notwithstanding, Murray's Indian summer just keeps going.

The veteran poached his 100th goal for the Seagulls shortly after the break, after the sides had traded chances before half time.

It was all Chris Hughton's side needed to continue their respectable start to their second season back in the top flight.

Southampton 0-0 Newcastle Southampton and Newcastle played out a goalless draw at St Mary's Stadium that will please neither of the Premier League strugglers.

Toon keeper Martin Dubravka had to be smart to deny a Jack Stephens header just before half time.

And that was as close as either side got, with Rafa Benitez's visitors marooned in the relegation mire.
