Custom Consoles Completes Module-R Desks for New Production Suites at NEP Worldwide Netherlands

NEP Worldwide Netherlands has chosen 10 Custom Consoles Module-R technical control desks for a new production facility at its studio headquarters in Hilversums Media Park. The installation will be deployed primarily for television coverage of sports events at locations around the globe.

NEP has proved a very loyal customer over the years and we are very pleased to have been chosen to help equip them for this project, says Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller. In addition to the three desks provided for these new suites we have supplied seven editing desks for use by NEPs post-production team.

The front control desk in each of the two production control rooms is a 7 metre wide inline Module-R configured with a 3U high sloping-front equipment pod along the rear of each of its 13 bays, along with a bespoke section to house a Grass Valley vision mixer. Positioned in parallel behind this is a 7.2 metre wide 14-bay desk of similar design.

Three additional 3.6 metre wide seven-bay inline desks provide supporting production control facilities.

Two audio suites are equipped with a U-shaped Module-R desk. These desks have been configured to accept Lawo audio production control panels.

Also supplied and installed was a 3.6 metre wide inline vision control desk for a video control room. This desk is constructed as seven bays with 3U high equipment pods along each bay and includes two groups of camera control panels.

All 10 Module-R desks have matching graphite Marmoleum worktops, grey side-panels and silver-anodised extruded aluminium legs with black-painted floor skids.

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture system, Custom Consoles Module-R series enables aesthetically attractive and long-life broadcast control-room furniture to be configured to meet specific shapes and dimensions from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desktop-level pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10U chassis capacity. The series includes high-quality single-bay, dual-bay and triple-bay desk sections with front or rear access, work surfaces in matching widths, corner desk sections with integral worktops, slide-out keyboard drawers, equipment pods with 3, 6 or 8U capacity, storage pedestals and equipment bays. Custom Consoles also offers a Module-R Lite variant for use in latest-generation IT-based studios or where space is at a premium. The front to back depth of Module-R Lite is 95 cm compared with the 120 cm depth of Module-R.
