Johannesburg, 11 March 2026 - The 19th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs19) are delighted to announce an exciting lineup of hosts for the upcoming SAFTAs19 live shows, promising to be a spectacular celebration of the nation's vibrant screen industry.Leading the Main Awards Show is the distinguished Anele Mgudlwa, a celebrated South African television presenter, radio personality, producer, businesswoman, author, and SAFTA-winning host, mother and wife. Co-host of one of South Africa's biggest morning breakfast shows, Anele and The Club on 947, Ms Mgudlwa is an Oscars nominated household brand. She will be joined by the energetic Sipho Alphi Mkhwanazi, a digital content creator, MC, and entrepreneur known for his viral videos, who will co-host with her, bringing more humour and charisma to the stage.
Adding further excitement to the celebrations, the Craft Awards presenters will be Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp and Moshe Ndiki. Elana is a loved TV personality and award-winning radio presenter with extensive experience on popular shows such as S3's Expresso Show, one of South Africa's most-loved midmorning radio shows on Jacaranda FM, kykNET's Parlement Parlement, and the award-winning Parent & Baby Brunch podcast. Moshe Ndiki, a multi-talented entrepreneur, YouTuber, actor, and reality TV star known for roles in shows like The Queen and his own reality TV shows, will bring his vibrant personality and humour to the celebration of behind-the-scenes SA film talent.
Ms. Onke Dumeko, NFVF Acting CEO and Chairperson of the SAFTAs Committee, highlights the thoughtful choice of hosts: We wanted individuals who understand the industry and can inspire audiences while celebrating South African talent. Our hosts represent varied career paths, diverse demographics and embody determination and talent, showcasing the growth of our industry.
The Craft Awards Ceremony will take place on 13 March 2026 at 19h00, streamed live on the SAFTAs YouTube channel, with live updates on social media.
Before the main awards, the excitement begins with the Red Carpet show on Saturday, 14 March 2026, at 19h30, hosted by the young and talented Pamela Mtanga and Katleho Kat Sinivasan. They will interact with industry icons and capture the glamour, fashion, and reactions from nominees before the live show.
The main awards ceremony will be simulcast on SABC 2 and Mzansi Magic (channel 161) on 14 March, starting with the Red Carpet show at 19h30, followed by the awards at 20h00. Our guests can expect captivating performances and surprise appearances, all under the theme: One Story. One Industry. One Future. - Celebrating South Africa's Screen Legacy, Together.
The public is invited to participate by voting for the Best TV Presenter and Most Popular TV Soap/Telenovela categories by dialling *120*32020# and following the prompts to vote.
