GlobalM supports quattro media and World Rowing with Glob...

GlobalM successfully supported quattro media GmbH and World Rowing, the world governing body of the Olympic sport of Rowing, with the international distribution of live coverage from the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, providing automated delivery to broadcast rights holders and digital platforms around the world.

Held from 24-30 August, the 2026 World Rowing Championships brought together more than 830 athletes from 64 nations competing across 23 boat classes at the historic Bosbaan racecourse located in the heart of Amsterdam. Live coverage was distributed internationally through broadcast partners and digital streaming on World Rowing-designated websites.

Working with quattro media and World Rowing, GlobalM GMX Cloud provided the software-defined media infrastructure used to distribute the live World Feed to international rights holders. Using GlobalMs distributed architecture, feeds are delivered through Points of Presence located close to each receiving organisation, helping to keep the Internet path between the GlobalM network and each taker as short as practical.

quattro media operated the complete distribution workflow directly through the GMX platform. Each day of competition could be scheduled in advance, with the required infrastructure, routes, and receiver connections automatically established according to the requirements of that days racing programme.

The same contribution feed was also used to serve digital distribution workflows, allowing World Rowings online platforms to be supplied alongside traditional broadcast rights holders without creating a separate contribution architecture.

A key part of the workflow is its reusability. quattro media has used GlobalM across several World Rowing productions, allowing established rights-holder configurations to remain available between events. Receiver endpoints, permissions, and SRT connection details could therefore be retained and reused rather than recreated for every production.

This created a persistent operational environment in which each new World Rowing regatta could build on established infrastructure and receiver configurations. Templates and existing workflows could be reused, while new takers were added when required.

For quattro media, this meant the international distribution network was prepared around each events requirements without repeatedly rebuilding the underlying technical workflow. For rights holders, it provided consistency, with established reception points and connection details remaining available across successive World Rowing productions.
