Nedbank Cup draw: Cape Town City vs Supersport United headline round of 32 fixtures

The launch of the Nedbank Cup took place on Thursday night, with the last 32 draw the main centre of attention.

All 16 top flight teams were in the pot , with a further 16 coming from the lower divisions.

The pick of the first-round fixtures in undoubtedly the one between Cape Town City and 2016 champions Supersport United, which will see Benni McCarthy and Kaitano Tembo who both started out their playing careers at Seven Stars lock horns at the helm of their respective clubs.

Other all-PSL fixtures include the clash between Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns, where the Brazilians will be wary of their less-fancied opponents, who have knocked them out of a cup competition in recent years.

Orlando Pirates will travel up north to take on Black Leopards, while AmaZulu will be hosting Highlands Park.

Kaizer Chiefs will more than likely travel to Mdantsane, as they have been drawn as the away side against Tornado.

Defending champions Free State Stars face a relatively easy task first up, as they host first-division outfit Richards Bay, while last season's runners-up, Maritzburg United square off against another second tier side in Witbank Spurs.
