Actor Ronald Mkhwanazi reveals that he was struggling to land an acting job until he bagged the role of Simon Nsimbi in SABC1's soapie Uzalo this year.

-- RONALD MKWANAZI: I WENT FROM ONE AUDITION TO ANOTHER' The veteran actor Ronald Mkhwanazi, who currently plays Njinji's right-hand man Simon Nsimbi in Uzalo spent two decades overseas acting in theatre productions and different TV shows.

Mkhwanazi tells Daily Sun that when he returned from overseas a decade ago he was welcomed by hunger as he went from one audition to another without any luck.

I went from one audition to another, without any luck. I was out of money. If you're not working, you won't have money. I didn't lose hope because I knew something would come up. This went on until Uzalo rescued me.

The star adds that he started acting in the 70s, working with Mzansi's respected theatre playwright Gibson Kente.

He dropped out of high school in grade 10, went to Europe to pursue acting, and settled in America in 1983.

-- BAB'NSIMBI STORYLINE IN UZALO' His character Simon Nsimbi known by Uzalo audiences as Bab'Nsimbi is in a relationship with his boss Njinji played by former Isibaya actress Thembi Nyandeni.

Gugu Gumede's sangoma character MaMlambo revealed this week that Njinji's late husband is not happy about their relationship and won't bless their relationship because they started seeing each other while he was still alive.

Njinji cheated on her husband with her right-hand man and they may have to end their affair' even after she gets cleansed.
