IABM appoints Stan Moote as CTO posted: 11/08/2015
IABM is delighted to announce the appointment of Stan Moote to the position of CTO at the Association
Stan Moote began his television career in 1977, while interning as a plant engineer for CFTO-TV in Toronto, Canada during the co-op component of his engineering degree from University of Waterloo. In 1980, Moote co-founded Digi-tel, Inc. and was responsible for the design and development of various innovative digital video products, before bringing his talents to bear at Leitch in 1984. Stan was involved in the SMPTE Digital Video Standards Committee meetings creating CCIR-601 and continued his standardization work on video transport by being on the VSF board of directors, Video Services Forum, 2001 to 2004. Stan is an active member of the NATAS Technical EMMY Committee.
While holding Vice President and CTO positions at Leitch and Harris, Stan focused on workflow solutions, new technology, standardization and interoperability on a global basis. Moote developed several patents including scrambling systems, data monitoring, multi-viewer, router processors and IPTV systems.

Stan's appointment comes at a time when IABM is experiencing growth in both its membership and events delivery. Stan will contribute to IABM's technology thought leadership and will assume responsibility for the development and scope of technical boards, committees, technology events and assist and formulate growth strategies in North America and APAC regions.
John Ive, IABM's Director of Technology and Strategic Insight, will be working closely with Stan and will help him transition the IABM to a new and deeper level of technology services for our members.
John Ive comments: I am delighted to see Stan join the team. He brings with him many years of valuable experience and will significantly strengthen the world-wide technology support we give to members.
Stan's appointment now affords John more time to spend on some of the more strategic development projects we have identified for the continued success of IABM as the go to vendor's association for the digital media and entertainment sector internationally.

Stan Moote says: The future direction of the broadcast and media industries is heavily based on quickly changing technologies. With a strong member base, IABM is poised to give clear understanding of the issues that need to be addressed to keep the industry strong.
