WCVB Spotlights Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education The institutes ABLE summer camp program was featured in the 5 for Good segment.

The Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education (BIAAE) made the news recently in a story that spotlighted the ABLE summer music program. The piece ran on WCVB, Boston's most-watched newscast, as part of its 5 for Good segment, in which veteran reporter Erika Tarantal takes a deeper look at local initiatives that have a big impact on the communities they serve.

The nearly three-minute segment featured interviews with Dr. Rhoda Bernard, BIAAE founder and managing director and assistant chair of music education, as well as BIAAE instructor Marisa Giangregorio and a parent of a student musician. The ABLE summer music camp-which stands for Arts Better the Lives of Everyone-is a two-week program available for musicians with disabilities ages nine through 17 that offers students the opportunity to study their instrument in group lessons, learn drumming, singing, and music technology in workshops, and perform with an ensemble at the end of each week.
