Denver Broncos Speed Draft Day Decisions with NetApp NetApp accelerates analysis of player data, enables team to make fast, informed offers on draft day

SUNNYVALE, Calif - April 28, 2016 - In preparation for draft day, our team crunches a significant amount of data, from a player's medical history and average speed to body movement and reactions and how players perform in certain situations, said Russ Trainor, vice president of IT for the Denver Broncos. NetApp FAS systems not only enable us to analyze all of this data in or near real-time, they actually power our entire infrastructure, business apps, fan engagement applications, coaching tools and decision making based on huge amounts of data collected.

One of the most successful and popular football teams in NFL history, the Denver Broncos have won several world championships and conference championships. Looking to accelerate business-critical applications, future-proof their infrastructure, and manage up to 30 percent annual data growth, the Broncos' IT staff turned to PEAK Resources, a NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) partner, to install NetApp storage systems.

With NetApp systems in place, the Broncos have the infrastructure needed to power everything from data analysis on draft day to the stadium on game day, as well as support over 330 events throughout the year. In addition, the Broncos have been able to deploy mobile tablets to 140 players, coaches, managers and support staff. The team can now view footage within hours of a game, regardless of location. The Broncos have also been able to create even more elaborate fan-focused applications to engage fans anywhere at any time.
