The IBC Conference Programme take places across 5 days and hosts over 300 speakers. Themed by day and anchored by keynote sessions, you can plan your conference to integrate with your overall IBC experience.
Access to each of the sessions is dependent on your registration package. If your pass doesn't stretch to Bronze' or better, you will only be granted admission to Strategic Insight' talks. From this shortlist, we've handpicked a quartet of eye catching sessions to get stuck into:
1. Silicon Valley investment in video Constructive or disruptive innovation?

Video is the new zeitgeist for Silicon Valley. With the introduction of live video streaming apps such as Periscope, it's alarming how much of a threat of disintermediation they represent to live video. This session is expected to be full of broadcasters and incumbents looking to respond quickly to these innovations - and for those concerned about what other innovations being funded by Silicon Valley they should be paying attention to.
2. Disrupting Storytelling: Wearables and what you watch

It was only a few years ago the industry was absorbed in 3D mania. Now the latest gizmo that every content provider is talking about is immersive viewing. In this session, representatives from entertainment and wearable tech start-ups are to discuss the opportunity and challenges that this emerging technology category brings to media and broadcast industries.
3. Roadmap Session: Our CTOs look forward 12 months

You can't go to any conference without a look ahead' discussion high up on the agenda. Rapid changes in technology and consumer expectations are fast-tracking how broadcasters and pay TV platforms must integrate and update in order to keep pace. In this session speakers from the BBC, UKTV and Discovery are to discuss how to limit CapEx outlays and effectively manage OpEx to meet the technology performance in order to compete effectively.
4. Cloud Processing, Applications that make sense
Thurs. September 10 | 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM | Room E102
This session presents leading case studies and applications that have benefited from early cloud adoption. You'll emerge with fresh perspectives on how broadcast workflows are becoming increasingly cloud-powered, and how you can make a successful transition to the cloud.
