ShowMax adds eight shows from Afrikaans lifestyle channel VIA --

Media24 s Afrikaans lifestyle channel VIA (DStv 147) has joined forces with video-on-demand subscription service ShowMax.
Eight of the channel s most popular shows will be available to ShowMax subscribers both in South Africa as well as in 28 countries outside the continent popular with South African expats. A bonus ninth show will be available exclusively to ShowMax viewers outside Africa.
Izelle Venter, channel head of VIA, said: VIA and ShowMax are the perfect partners. Both are young, fresh platforms entertaining audiences in a new way. VIA is one of Afrikaans DStv viewers favourite lifestyle channels and ShowMax is a great way for people who love a proudly South African lifestyle to watch VIA whenever and wherever they want.
The eight VIA programmes added to ShowMax are centred around food, style and relationships:
Vrydag 4 Uur (seasons 1-3): an unconventional travel show featuring the young couple Alti Fouche and Dirk Smit.
Pasgetroud (seasons 1-2): a wedding show where we see if couples dreams for their big day come true.
Padkos (seasons 1-2): a funky food truck show where presenter Leroux Botha cooks his midlife crisis away.
Driekuns (season 1): three famous people who have made a name for themselves share stories about their lives and careers.
n Halfuur met Hanlie (seasons 1-3): South Africans of note have an intimate conversation with Rapport s celebrated journalist Hanlie Retief.
Die Kliek (season 1-3): VIA s popular dating show will have viewers in stitches as comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout helps a group of women find love with the help of social media.
Op Pad met Dana (season 1): writer Dana Snyman travels across South Africa in search of stories of hope.
Brood en Botter (season 1): super-chef Bertus Basson leads the search for new culinary talent.
ShowMax subscribers living outside Africa get an added bonus VIA s hit show, Kom Ons Braai. On this show three couples try to impress each other with their braai skills in a bid to be crowned king of the coals.

ShowMax is priced at R99 per month in South Africa. The service is available to South African TV fans living in any of the following 28 countries outside the African continent for US$8.99 per month: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
VIA, channel 147 on DStv, is aimed at Afrikaans families and focuses on food, style and relationships, with three hours of content every weekday between 17h30 and 19h00 and again between 20h00 and 21h00.
