Two-time Grammy nominee Karyn White is set to touch down in South Africa for performances at the Grand Arena in Cape Town on Friday 26 August and at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Sunday 28 August. White is best known for her singles Superwoman, I'd Rather Be Alone, The Way You Love Me and Secret Rendezvous.

This performance marks the R&B/Soul star's first performance in Mzansi since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

WHO IS KARYN WHITE? Los Angeles-born singer Karyn White rose to fame following the release of her self-titled debut album in 1988. The album achieved platinum status in the United States and also scored her two Grammy nominations. White also became the first female artist to have three tracks from her debut album hit number one on the R&B charts.

Since then, White has released three more albums and collaborated with the likes of Mary J Blige, Monica, Johnny Gill and many more.

The 56-year-old's most recent album, Carpe Diem, was released in 2012 after a 17-year hiatus.

KARYN WHITE COMES TO SOUTH AFRICA To round off Women's Month in Mzansi, Karyn White is set to perform in Cape Town on 26 August and in Pretoria on 28 August.

Award-winning musos Sjava and the Jaziel Brothers will be opening for Karyn White at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on 28 August. DJs Ismail Abrahams, Msisi Shemba, Tbose Mokwele, David Mashabela and DJ Young will all be hitting the decks.

Ahead of the performance, White shared a throwback video clip on 12 August of her previous performance in Johannesburg.
