LATSAT, first Latin American Congress of communications and broadcasting satellite This Summit, which has the support of the Secretariat of communications and transport (SCT) of Mexico, will be the first Executive meeting dedicated to the Latin American sector of the communications satellite.

This Summit, which has the support of the Secretariat of communications and transport (SCT) of Mexico, will be the first Executive meeting dedicated to the Latin American sector of the communications satellite, where interested parties can discuss global and local market issues, engage, discuss developments in the industry and doing business with national and regional counterparts.

Steve Bochinger, Chief Operating Officer of Euroconsult, pointed out that "Latin America has experienced in recent years a strong growth in terms of acquisition of satellites, usability and satellite services, and in particular the Mexican Government has big ambitions for its national programme of space and communications. It is therefore essential for this region to develop a central place in the business, where you can discuss and define the future of the sector. With Congress LATSAT we develop an event of reference for Latin America based on a model similar to our flagship event, the World Satellite Business Week, which is famous for its high level to establish relationships and close deals".

For his part, Jorge Alberto Juraidini Rumilla, director general of Telecomm said that "the SCT through Mexico telecommunications (Telecomm) supports and participates in the Organization of this event called first Latin-American Congress satellite ." Given its nature, the major players in the industry will meet both of the public and private sectors, which will represent a great forum for the development of opportunities in the region. "Moreover, will promote the strategic role satellite and complementary industries to improve ICT contributing to close the gap in connectivity in Latin America".

The two-day event will include a program of high-level speakers and executive-level thematic round tables that will provide government officials and industry executives. Sessions will cover all levels of the value chain of communications satellite and will be moderated by experts of high level of the sector. LATSAT Summit will bring together more than 100 senior executives representing government agencies and public, as well as broadcasters, satellite operators, service providers and manufacturers of satellites.
