New office set to supply sales and support services to multiple customers in Myanmar including MRTV

Continuing its efforts to provide hyper-local product support for its customers in the Asia Pacific and China (APAC) region, Vizrt has opened a new sales and support office in Yangon, Myanmar. This opening has been in response to an increase in demand for Vizrt's real-time graphics production tools and collaborative workflow platforms in the region. Ms. Bu Saw, a Burmese native, will head up the new office as a presales/support specialist for the newly formed Vizrt Myanmar business unit.

The broadcast market is quickly growing in Myanmar, with new demand from both private and public/state-run broadcasters, said Michael Namatinia, president, Vizrt APAC. From this new office Vizrt, with its technical production expertise, can work more closely with our customers while taking advantage of local engineering teams. This means our product support response time is greatly improved and our understanding of the unique problems and requirements of professionals here on the ground is second to none.

One customer that will benefit from Vizrt's Yangon presence is the state-run broadcaster MRTV. It launched a number of new channels in 2014 that target specific demographics of the regional population. These channels include MRTV News, MRTV Entertainment, MRTV Parliament, the Farmer Channel and the National Races Channel. The initial project was expanded to include a second phase of technology upgrades, successfully supported by local Vizrt personnel.

MRTV has a real need to upgrade their existing technical facilities and we're excited to report that it's committed much of this project to Vizrt. It's already installed the latest Vizrt technology, in two phases across 2014 and 2015 as part of their migration to full HD production and broadcasting, Namatinia added.

Among the new Vizrt products purchased by MRTV which are now fully operational include a live news production system with Viz Pilot for template-based graphics production in the newsroom, the Viz Trio character generator and graphics control system and a Viz Artist 3D graphics creation system. The broadcaster is also using Viz Engine to drive a Barco 2x3 projection wall in the studio.

We've already received a lot of interest from a number of broadcasters in Myanmar and across the APAC region that are eager to utilse both Vizrt's expertise and solutions, Namatinia concluded. I think the new Vizrt Myanmar office will fill quite a gap in the market for technical assistance and response times are tailored to this unique region.
