ITV Launches New This Morning App

To coincide with the 30th anniversary of the nation's longest-running and best-loved daytime show, ITV is launching a brand new This Morning app.

Available to download for free today on mobile and tablet, the brand new app will allow fans to get even closer to the programme.

It will accompany the show with features, videos, image galleries and more spanning entertainment, food, fashion, health, celebrity and human interest stories and interviews.

As well as clips from the show, the app will also include the opportunity for viewers to have their say on topics discussed in the programme, interactive polls and quizzes, a live streaming feature, competitions and exclusive videos, including the show's Best Bits.

Jaine Sykes, ITV Head of Digital - Daytime, Sport & Factual said: This Mornings digital presence has grown at a phenomenal rate, with a comment, like or share every two seconds on Facebook. Our audience have always been at the heart of everything we do digitally, so the natural next step had to be launching an app. It gives us the opportunity to connect even more with our audience, both during and outside of the live programme, and fully embraces ITVs recently announced More Than TV strategy.

This Morning's editor Martin Frizell said, This is a fantastic addition to the This Morning brand and offers another exciting way for viewers to continue our conversations, get exclusive access to further content and feel even more involved with the show. Our anniversary week is a celebratory time for the team, but also a time to thank our loyal viewers, who will hopefully like this new addition.

This Mornings app is created by the developers behind ITV's hugely successful Love Island and I'm A Celebrity apps among others.

As part of This Morning's 30th anniversary, the programme will celebrate and mark the occasion on screen from the 1st October with a host of special guests, items and surprises throughout the week. In addition to this, BAFTA will also honour the show with a special award and tribute event in recognition of its continued success, and ITV will air a prime time documentary called This Morning - 30 Unforgettable Years tonight [7.30pm] that tells the story of how the show has become a national institution.
