BEVERLY HILLS, California--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- La Presidente de PBS, Paula Kerger anunci hoy en la Rueda de Prensa de la Asociaci n de Cr ticos de Televisi n la lista completa y los horarios de transmisi n de los espect culos de programaci n art stica anuales de PBS. El 2015 PBS Arts Fall Festival regresa el 9 de octubre de 2015 a las 9:00 pm ET, celebrando su quinta temporada, con ocho programas semanales nuevos. El Festival ser el lanzamientodel ingenioso y muy activo UNITY EL TRIBUTO LATINO A MICHAEL JACKSON, conducido por la legendaria percusionista de fama internacional Sheila E. que presentar los m s grandes xitos de Michael Jackson interpretados por artistas latinos galardonados.
La audiencia ser transportada al esp ritu de Halloween el 30 de octubre cuando EN VIVO DESDE EL LINCOLN CENTER sin previo aviso, presente las transmisiones de La m sica de Danny Elfman de las pel culas de Tim Burton que destacan la m sica de los xitos cinematogr ficos de taquilla, comoBatman, Beetlejuice, Alicia en el pa s de las maravillas y m s. Reci n llegada de su reciente paso por Broadway y premiada con un Tony, GRANDES ACTUACIONES trae Chita Rivera: A Lot of Livin' to Do el 6 de noviembre. El Arts Fall Festival de PBS de este a o le da la bienvenida a muchos m s de los nombres importantes de Broadway y Hollywood, que incluyen a Vanessa Williams, Norm Lewis, Julian Ovendon de Downton Abbey en MASTERPIECE, Tony Shalhoub, Andrea Martin y Andrea Bocelli, entre otros.
El PBS Arts Fall Festival es un acontecimiento anual de la programaci n del horario central de PBS los viernes, que lleg a m s de 15 millones de televidentes en la ltima temporada y que destaca el compromiso permanente de PBS de darle al p blico lo mejor del arte en el aire y en Internet. Este a o, el Festival ser presentado por la superestrella internacional de la m sica, ganadora del Grammy en siete oportunidades, Gloria Estefan, cuya propia trayectoria con su esposo Emilio, se narra en el nuevo musical de Broadway, ON YOUR FEET!, que se estrenar en octubre en el Marquis Theatre de la Ciudad de Nueva York.
La quinta edici n anual del PBS Arts Fall Festival es una celebraci n de las artes y la m sica del escenario y la pantalla, de la lista de xitos del pop, y m s. Gloria Estefan como presentadora este a o y un tributo latino a la m sica de Michael Jackson son algunos de los puntos destacados de la programaci n del festival de este a o, coment la Presidente y Directora Ejecutiva de PBS Paula Kerger. El festival es un testamento duradero del compromiso de larga data de PBS con las artes, que se refuerza con el programa de este oto o, que consistir en una programaci n de calidad de dise o y actuaciones interesantes que atrapar n al p blico.
El festival atraviesa a generaciones y g neros con xitos contempor neos, leyendas de Broadway y tributos a artistas innovadores, con un protagonismo adicional, este a o, de las estrellas de la m sica latina, afirm el Vicepresidente de Programaci n de PBS y curador del festival, Donald Thoms. Esta temporada promete ser espectacular para las artes en PBS, y refuerza nuestro compromiso con las artes y la programaci n diversa.

UNITY TRIBUTO LATINO A MICHAEL JACKSON

La baterista y percusionista internacional Sheila E. conduce un especial en concierto que presenta a artistas latinos galardonados y una orquesta de 37 integrantes que ejecutan arreglos con infusi n latina de las canciones en el album Unity de Tony Succar: El Tributo latino a Michael Jackson. El concierto presentan 10 canciones en las que m sicos inspirados de toda Latinoam rica se unen para celebrar y volver a imaginar xitos como Smooth Criminal, I Want You Back y Billie Jean. En su lanzamiento, en abril de 2015, el album encabez los Amazon Latin World Music Charts, los iTunes World Music Charts y los Billboard Tropical Charts en el puesto No. 1. Fue producido por Unity Entertainment Corporation y Oregon Public Broadcasting en asociaci n con Universal Music Classics.

Este musical innovador redefini el entretenimiento y le cambi el rostro al teatro estadounidense. Abarcando desde 1880 hasta 1927, la obra maestra l rica de Jerome Kern y Oscar Hammerstein II se centra en las vidas, amores y decepciones amorosas de tres generaciones del folk en el R o Mississippi, en Chicago y en Broadway. El impacto musical contin a siendo incomparable, con su abordaje del prejuicio racial, y tambi n la introducci n de un reparto de raza mixta en Broadway, en su debut, a la vez que apuntaba a una nueva s ntesis entre la m sica y el espect culo. Esta nueva producci n de la Filarm nica de Nueva York presenta un reparto de todas estrellas lideradas por Vanessa Williams y Julian Ovenden, de Downton Abbey, como as tambi n, Norm Lewis, Jane Alexander, Fred Willard, y Lauren Worsham. El sonido pleno de la Filarm nica destaca la m sica exuberante en el centro de este espect culo pico.
