Sky is kicking off the summer with unforgettable performances and interviews from the one and only Liam Gallagher in 60-minute special Liam Gallagher 48 Hours at Rockfield. The brand new show will give viewers unparalleled access to the world renowned rockstar, as he heads to the famous Rockfield Studios in Wales with his sons, Lennon and Gene for 48 hours of music, memories and mayhem. The show will be simulcast on Sky Max, Sky Arts (Freeview Channel 11) and NOW at 9pm on 24th May. Ahead of the release of his new album C'Mon You Know and a jam-packed summer of gigs including a return to Knebworth, Liam wants to relax with his sons in two of his favourite places - the studio and the pub - and he's invited us along for the ride. Featuring intimate session performances cut with candid conversations and family banter, the show provides a unique insight into Liam's life, past and present.
At the famous Rockfield Studios - the first residential recording studio and host to the likes of Iggy Pop, Black Sabbath, Queen and a once little-known band called Oasis - viewers will see Liam perform exclusive tracks from the upcoming album, plus two Oasis classics - in-between these studio sessions, Liam is captured at his most content, chatting candidly about music, song writing and his upcoming tour.
As he later relaxes at a Welsh country pub over a pint and a game of pool with sons Lennon and Gene, Liam opens up about all the important stuff: approaching 50, fatherhood, family, his biggest regrets, greatest achievements, loves and hates, one-liners, his rock n roll career, performing at Knebworth Park, big nights out, lockdown and the Queen
Always honest, always funny and entertaining - this is Liam with his guard down, playing some tunes and hanging out with his sons and his band. In the words of the man himself: its gonna be biblical .
Phil Edgar-Jones Director of Sky Arts said: If the Sky Arts team were to compile a list of national treasures Liam Gallagher would be right up there. He embodies the joy and the danger of rock n roll and his new material sits comfortably with Oasis at its best. We're pleased to welcome him as the new problem child in the Sky Arts family.
Liam Gallagher said of the filming: "It was great to go back to Rockfield after all these years and see the old firm looking so well. It brought back many memories, of which I cant remember LGx"
Kate Shepherd, Managing Director, Warner Music Entertainment UK, says: Liam is truly a man of the people and this documentary captures him in his most natural environment - playing with his band, interacting with the locals and being with his sons. It was a special moment to witness Liam return to Rockfield, one of Britain's most iconic studios, after 27 years. Fans are going to love the intimate moments we caught and how the real Liam shines through. We're delighted to be able partner with Sky on this.
Liam Gallagher 48 Hours at Rockfield was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment. Shirley Jones is Commissioning Editor for Sky. The executive producer is Kate Shepherd for Warner Music Entertainment.
Liam Gallagher 48 Hours at Rockfield will be simulcast on Sky Max, Sky Arts (Freeview Channel 11) and streaming service NOW at 9pm on 24th May 2022.

About Sky Arts
Sky Arts exists to bring more art to more people across the UK. In 2020, with the creative industries under serious threat, we threw open our doors to make the channel free for everyone to watch. We've redoubled our mission to increase access to the arts and we're committed to getting everyone involved as the industry recovers. The fact is, we need the arts now like never before, and Sky Arts brings them straight to your living room.
We have something for everyone, championing creative talent by showcasing the best in music, theatre, dance, literature, opera and visual art. From Glyndebourne to Grime and C zanne to The Style Council, we've got your passions covered. Millions of viewers tune in to hit returning series such as Portrait Artist of the Year, Urban Myths and British cultural institution The South Bank Show, but our acclaimed new programmes might take you anywhere from Pinter's house with Danny Dyer to a Scottish road trip with Samuel Johnson.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Sky Arts is the headline sponsor of National Theatre Live in the UK, and we work with cultural partners across the country including the English National Opera, Royal Academy of Arts, Tate, Creative Industries Federation and Coventry City of Culture to name but a few.
You can watch Sky Arts for free on Freeview channel 11 and Freesat channel 147. If you've got Sky or a Now TV entertainment pass, you can also watch over 2,000 hours of shows exclusively on demand.
We're passionate about supporting the next generation of artists, so we're working with five leading Sky Arts Ambassadors - Booker Prize-winner Bernardine Evaristo, dance artist Akram Khan, conductor Charles Hazlewood, Theatre Royal Stratford East Artistic Director Nadia Fall, and sculptor Anish Kapoor - to run bursary schemes for new and emerging talent.
