Game Creek Video, one of the nation's leading providers of mobile production facilities, is no stranger to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. And it's certainly no stranger to the ambitious expectations of Fox Sports.

The tent-pole event - this year's version hosted at hot and sunny Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles - is annually an occasion when Fox Sports likes to push the envelope and try new things, especially when it comes to experimenting with additional video- and audio-acquisition gear in the ballpark. The 2022 edition is right on brand.

This is definitely a bigger show than last year's, says Steve Dolce, technical manager/engineer, Game Creek Video, who is serving as GCV's project manager here at All-Star. We've got people on this project who are built for the big show. We've got the top truck in the fleet out here.

That top truck is, of course, Encore, which has supported many of Fox Sports' biggest events over the past year, including the NFL Playoffs, Daytona 500, the Big East Tournament, and last season's MLB milestones like Field of Dreams and Postseason/World Series.

In the Dodger Stadium compound this week are GVC Encore A, B, and C units alongside Edit 2 and Edit 4. According to Dolce, these facilities - and the Game Creek Video team of technicians, including veteran EIC Shane Gibbons - are supporting some new Fox Sports ambitions: most notably, more high-frame-rate cameras in the form of four 8X super-slow-motion cameras and eight 6X units.

Game Creek Video Encore is in the Dodger Stadium compound to support Fox Sports' production of the 2022 MLB All-Star Game.

There are also six of Canon's new DIGISUPER 122xAF lenses. Two of them are on the new Sony F5500 (a super-35mm 4K camera), which is making its first baseball appearance for Fox at this All-Star Game.

Fox wants to see what that look is, the cinematic look, says Matt Caron, technical solutions manager, Game Creek Video. We're excited to be able to help them with that.

A vast majority of what Game Creek Video and Fox are doing here in Los Angeles will be picked up, moved, and used again in just under month at the second edition of the MLB at Field of Dreams game, which is set to return to Dyersville, IA, on Aug. 11 for a matchup between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs.

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game airs Tuesday evening on Fox beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
