Dean To Serve as Key Sales Executive as Company Expands Advanced Advertising Efforts
NEW YORK - Feb. 13, 2018 - CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS and CBS.A) announced today it has named Mike Dean to a newly created position as Senior Vice President, Advanced Advertising and Automation, a strategic hire to further build upon the Company's advanced advertising sales efforts. Dean will report to Dave Morris, Executive Vice President, Advanced Advertising and Client Partnerships, CBS Corporation. Dean will also work closely with Jo Ann Ross, President and Chief Advertising Revenue Officer, CBS Corporation. He begins on Feb. 20 and will be based in New York.
Dean most recently served as Vice President, Advanced & Programmatic Advertising at Disney ABC TV Group. In his new role, Dean will be responsible for developing industry-leading advanced advertising products and launching new products that enable advertisers to target specific audience segments that are measured against campaign goals across television and digital channels.

Dean brings a combination of digital and linear expertise to CBS' advanced advertising efforts. He most recently served as Vice President, Advanced & Programmatic Advertising at Disney ABC TV Group from 2014-2018. Addressing the spectrum of media functions from packaging to measurement, Dean led efforts to strategize, build and deliver advanced and programmatic solutions across the company's channels and portfolio. He consulted and collaborated across functional areas, and he has been a regular speaker at industry events such as Beet.tv, Videonuze, Digiday, Videonomics and IAB. Dean is a member of IAB Advanced TV Committee, IAB Data Council, and the ATSG (Advanced TV Standards Group).
Before working for Disney, Dean was Senior Director and then Vice President of Media Platform, Sales and Solutions in New York for Videology (2011-2014) and Director of Publisher Development for Vibrant Media (2010-2011). For five years, Dean worked for the Microsoft Corporation, in business development and product management for BizTalk Server and Bing.
From 1993-1996, Dean served in the United States Army in the Airborne Infantry, and was deployed to Uganda for Operation Support Hope. He was named Distinguished Honor Graduate of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense School, and he was awarded the Expert Infantryman Badge and the Army Achievement Medal.
Dean holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BBA in Information Systems and Operations from Texas A&M University, from which he graduated magna cum laude.
