
Grass Valley Focuses on Networking Solutions that Streamline Broadcast Production at IBC
Customers embrace solutions that leverage proven IT technology
MONTREAL, September 7, 2016 The broadcast network the core of all production environments has undergone significant transition in the past year. More users are turning to networks based on proven data center IT capabilities, such as distributed IP switching and virtualization. At IBC, several enhanced networking solutions will be featured:
The GV Node Real-Time IP Processing and Edge Routing Platform v 1.1 now includes full hybrid routing with an audio matrix of up to 2304 x 2304 sources, MADI embed/de-embed and quiet switching. Version 1.1 also expands the integrated Kaleido multiviewer with scalability up to 36x4 outputs for larger systems. Coming in November, version 1.2 will add ASI audio as well as support for SMPTE 2022-7 seamless switching for redundant IP streams.
The GV Convergent IP Router Control and Configuration System 1.3 now provides IP network edge-device control including Densit IPG-3901 IP gateways for SDI to IP conversion. Control of the GV Node IP aggregation ports and tieline routing allow detailed management of larger router switch fabrics. And implementation of SMPTE 2022-7 provides seamless switching for redundant IP streams.
IPG-3901 SDI/IP Gateway 2.0 includes SMPTE 2022-7 redundancy and TR-04 with AES-67 support.
Virtualized Kaleido IP provides highly scalable playout applications.
The NV9000 Control System 8.1.0 now includes support for GV Node and other edge devices when paired with GV Convergent 1.3. Enhancements for virtual panels and SE Utilities continue to provide a user experience that is adaptable to any workflow.
Grass Valley is unveiling a new global strategic alliance with Cisco to collaborate on IP networking, virtualization and security. As a Cisco IST Integrator, Grass Valley will also sell proven networking packages that include Cisco switches. High-functioning IP solutions for broadcast are not generic this alliance between two leaders in their respective markets provides customers with a tightly integrated and tested system along with a single point of contact for all network and edge-device questions.
Grass Valleys commitment to world-class networking solutions extends beyond support for direct-IP interfaces in all products and encompasses a fundamental philosophy of open industry standards. As a founding member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), an independent trade association founded to ensure that all IP solutions brought to market offer complete interoperability, Grass Valley is dedicated to open standards that will integrate seamlessly into current workflow environments.
