Berklee Valencia's Student-Run Disrupci n Records Releases New Compilation Album The album, Summer Whistle, features 12 tracks composed by 21 artists from music schools around the world.

Disrupci n Records, the student-run label of Berklee's campus in Valencia, Spain, has released a new compilation album. Titled Summer Whistle, the record features a collection of summer-themed indie pop songs with a global perspective. Released digitally via the Orchard, an independent distributor, the album is now streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Tidal.

Summer Whistle is the result of a collaborative project bringing together 21 artists from music schools across the globe. Half of the albums 12 tracks were composed and produced over the course of three months by six teams of Berklee student musicians. The teams were mentored by Jonathan Perkins, assistant chair of the Songwriting Department; Rodney Alejandro, associate professor of songwriting; Brad Hatfield, associate professor of songwriting; Liz Teutsch, associate professor at Berklee Valencia; Prince Charles Alexander, professor of music production and engineering; and Pablo Mungu a, director of the Music Production, Technology, and Innovation graduate program.

The albums other six tracks were created by students at Berklee's academic partner schools around the world, including EMMAT (Colombia), Paris College of Music (France), Holland College (Canada), Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador), and Conservat rio Souza Lima (Brazil).

I have witnessed every step of the growth of the Summer Whistle album, from its beginning in the songwriting camp through the final artwork, said Yidi Zhang, the albums project manager. This album not only represents the vision of Disrupci n Records-to embrace cultural diversity-but also the sincere input from Berklee faculty and students, and artists around the world. I am so proud of this album, and feel my heart warmed when listening to the songs.
