The prayers of Real Housewives of Johannesburg fans have been finally answered with the announcement of a new season.

The newly released poster features a cast revamp with only the exception of two returning cast members Lebo and Lethabo who ironically left the last season not in the best terms. The information regarding the new cast members is yet to be released.

The second season ended with a bang with viewers wildly anticipating the return of the franchise.

The wait would turn out to be longer than expected. The Johannesburg franchise did trend on social media but unfortunately not for any positive reasons. The franchise was plagued by bad publicity from the behind the scenes physical altercations between fan favourite Christall Kay and fellow OG Brinette.

Fans are hoping that the third season will be lit just like The Real Housewives of Johannesburg' season two. The announcement of the new season was met with mixed reviews. This is understandable as the show has been off television screens for a long period of time. The return of the show has certain viewers such as entertainment commentator Phil Mphela who tweeted that the new season was not produced under pressure because fans have been demanding a new season of the franchise.
