The second voice.Studio Berlin relies on the Rental Partner ABS and Lawo technology for the season finale of the second season of "The Voice of Germany". The opener of the second season of the very popular casting show The Voice Of Germany (TVOG) (aired on Sat1/Pro7)featured none other than Robbie Williams. Together with the other four finalists, the superstar sang his hit Candy, followed by duets of the finalists with their coaches: Nena, Rea, Xavier Naidoo, and The Boss Hoss. In the end, the viewers decided overwhelmingly in favour of Nick Howard (UK), coached by Rea, and chose him the winner of the second season. Studio Berlin was responsible for the production of the finale, while the rental company Audio Broadcast Services (ABS) provided the technical equipment from Lawo on very short notice.

Studio Berlin is very well equipped for all kinds of movie and TV-productions. To this end, it boasts over 10 studios in Berlin, four studios in Potsdam/Babelsberg, and 10 further studios in Hamburg. Aside from TVOG, Studio Berlin is responsible for the production of the shows Beckmann, Drei bei Kai, Anne Will, Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten, as well as several others and has already worked on movie productions, such as Resident Evil and Good Bye! Lenin.
The rental company ABS was hired on very short notice for the season finale of TVOG on December 14, 2012, which was produced in 5.1 surround. Having already gained a reputation for reliable and timely delivery while providing high quality equipment to Studio Berlin for multiple productions during season one of TVOG, the company was yet again able to live up to its reputation and had all required equipment on site within two days.
Lawo Technology
An mc66 MKII from Lawo with 40 faders (16-8-16 frame) and 3 DSP cards, offering a total of 144 DSP channels, ensured excellent sound quality. Connected to a local DALLIS-I/O system, the console's router card moreover provided 8,000 x 8,000 crosspoints. The mc66 MKII was located in the control room, where it was used for mixing the 5.1 surround sound. It was connected to another mc66 through MADI located in the Studio Berlin OB-van to handle the stereo mix.
According to Studio Berlin, the high sound quality, constant reliability as well as the excellent features both of permanently installed and rented Lawo equipment sealed the deal in favour of Lawo. The use of Lawo hardware was further advantageous, as sound engineers at Studio Berlin are already trained on mc66 consoles.
