As anyone who has ever worked with pedestrian simulation will know, even small design changes can make a big difference to the efficiency and safety of a finished building. The power and speed of MassMotion makes it easy to test different options and identify the best solution on the desktop, before designs are finalised. The hard part can be convincing the rest of the project team who may have concerns over budgets, timescales or the knock-on implications with third parties.

Stakeholders are unlikely to question your recommendations where safety and code compliance are concerned, but will they recognise the potential significance of your findings for improving the customer experience (in pedestrian simulation terms; the Level of Service they perceive)? How can they evaluate and justify the potential cost and disruption of, installing an extra escalator, as happened at Beijing Daxing International airport or altering staff deployment and even train timetables.

The answer is to help them by providing clear visuals that reveal the problems and clearly illustrate the potential solutions. Images and video will always be the preferred options and MassMotion is equipped with the tools that make it easy to turn a lot of data into highly presentable media. Unveiled as part of the Version 9.5 release, the MassMotion Viewer, makes it even easier for people with no previous experience with engineering software, to interact and learn from MassMotion results.

The MassMotion Viewer gives you complete control of what the recipient sees, avoiding any unwanted misunderstandings. If you wanted to breakdown what the viewer would see even further, you can export simulation slices' from MassMotion or Flow. Slices are a subset of a simulation database file and can drastically reduce file size by keeping only the segment of a result set that would be useful when communicating results with stakeholders and third-parties.
