CSN Mid-Atlantic launched CSNmidatlantic.com and the CSN Mid-Atlantic application for iOS and Android devices. The new platforms integrate and expand the extensive regional sports content previously available across its market-focused websites, CSNwashington.com and CSNbaltimore.com, and mobile apps.
CSN's comprehensive digital content covering the entire Washington, D.C., and Baltimore region can now be accessed on a single website and app for smartphones and tablets. With the launch of CSNmidatlantic.com and the CSN Mid-Atlantic app, the content and branding of CSN's primary digital platforms now align with its TV and social media properties.
As the region's largest multiplatform sports media organization, we generate an incredible amount of high-quality coverage, which we can now deliver to fans on dynamic, all-inclusive digital platforms, said CSN Mid-Atlantic President Rebecca Schulte. In addition to making it easier to access all of our great content, the integration allows us to create more material and broaden our reach by aligning our brands and consolidating our marketing and sales efforts.
The new website and mobile app present the entire portfolio of written, video and interactive digital content produced daily by CSN's writers, reporters and insiders. The new platforms are highlighted by exclusive coverage of the region's professional teams and top college programs, including the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, D.C. United, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terrapins.
CSNmidatlantic.com also now hosts the live-streaming player that provides authenticated subscribers access to CSN's live Washington Wizards games, as well as Wizards Pregame Live and Wizards Postgame Live. That content will continue to be available on mobile devices via NBC Sports Live Extra. Other features of the website include live news conference streaming, real-time social media portals and top national stories from NBCSports.com.
CSN's digital media coverage is led by a group of experienced reporters: Ravens Insider Clifton Brown, Redskins Insider Tarik El-Bashir, Capitals Insider Chuck Gormley, Wizards Insider J. Michael, Nationals Insider Mark Zuckerman and Redskins Reporter Rich Tandler. Their daily coverage is supplemented by a team of digital correspondents, contributions from the network's TV reporters and analysts, and video content from CSN's news and entertainment programs.
Now replaced by CSNmidatlantic.com, CSNwashington.com and CSNbaltimore.com - launched in 2009 and 2010, respectively - established CSN as the region's leading source for multiplatform sports coverage. Bolstered by increased content, technical advancement and the acquisition of top talent, the network's websites have earned continuous growth since inception. During the first half of this year, they earned double-digit gains in unique visitors (12%), visits (27%) and page views (26%) versus the same period in 2014, which was a record-setting year in all categories.
CSN's digital portfolio also consists of robust social media platforms, highlighted by @CSNMA and several team-branded accounts, such as @CSNRedskins and @CSNRavens, on Twitter and a comprehensive Facebook page. CSN also operates a pair of team-focused blogs, NatsInsider.com, led by Zuckerman, and RealRedskins.com, written by Tandler.
