Manchester United 2-1 Everton Manchester United just had enough to see off Everton in the late Sunday Premier League kick off at Old Trafford.

Both sides began brightly but United had the edge, with Anthony Martial coaxing a tricky save from Jordan Pickford in the 24th minute.

The French forward then took a tumble over the leg of Idrissa Gueye as referee Jon Moss pointed to the spot.

Bernard almost instantly missed an open goal from a narrowing angle to close the deficit, before Marcus Rashford was the next to be denied by Pickford.

But then came the lifeline, as Gylfi Sigurdsson slotted home from the spot in the 77th minute after Chris Smalling had felled Richarlison.

United, though, saw out time to seal a crucial victory for Mourinho and his men.

A pair of Luka Milivojevic penalties pegged the Gunners back, as Roy Hodgson's men finally scored at home this season.

Wilfried Zaha struck the base of the post after being left in space at the far post early on, as the Eagles put on a spirited first half display.

They were rewarded with just about the last kick of the first period.

Shkodran Mustafi's clumsy foul on Cheikhou Kouyate allowed Milivojevic to slot in from the penalty spot for the first time.

But Granit Xhaka soon left that null and void when he whipped a stunning left-footed free kick into the top left-hand corner on 51 minutes.

And Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completed the turnaround soon after, prodding in at the back post despite Alex Lacazette appearing to get away with a handball as the cross came over.

It remained a fevered derby, though, with Xhaka's eagerness getting the better of him as he felled Zaha in the area with seven minutes to play.

Milivojevic rifled the penalty past Bernd Leno to pull Palace back level.

Maurizio Sarri's star Belgian sat out the trip to the north west, as the Londoners reduced the gap to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League back to two points.

The Blues were rewarded for their bright start including Willian striking a post when Alvaro Morata prodded past the exposed Jose Hart on 22 minutes.

Morata then fired into the side-netting after a sublime piece of skill, before forcing a close-range save from Hart.

In-form Ross Barkley doubled the lead when he struck from range in the 57th minute.

Willian found his mark at the second time of asking, picking out the bottom corner for number three as the hosts unraveled.

And Ruben Loftus-Cheek added the fourth at the death after continuing his impressive form off the bench.
