Grass Valley to Showcase 4K and IP Solutions at BIRTV 2015

MONTREAL, August 20, 2015 To support the migration to 4K and IP technology, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, will demonstrate its newest broadcast solutions at BIRTV 2015. Attendees to booth 8A08 will have an opportunity to learn how the adoption of Grass Valley's LDX camera system and its Glass-to-Glass IP solution leads to a more efficient workflow while producing more valuable content.

The new LDX 86 Universe camera system addresses the needs of 4K/UHD live production professionals today, setting a new standard in 4K/UHD live image acquisition, yet still maintains familiar HD workflows. The LDX 86 Universe offers universal format support with switchable 1X/3X/6X HD, 1X/3X 3G and 1X 4K from a single camera for ultimate flexibility and equipment utilization.

For IP technology, Grass Valley will showcase its full, Glass-to-Glass IP solution, enabling customers to harness the power of IP to make their workflows incredibly agile and flexible while using SDN control and COTS switches in a familiar, broadcast-centric environment. At the heart of this solution lies GV Convergent SDN, which makes routing IP video and audio appear the same as routing serial digital interface (SDI) to an operator, providing transparent control. The initial release of GV Convergent SDN targets customers who want to make use of IP alongside SDI or as an entrance into IP networking for video and audio signals.

Additional products on display at the Grass Valley booth include the Kayenne K-Frame switcher, delivering the highest level of performance available to live productions and the K2 Dyno Replay System for instant replay and highlight generation for SD/HD/3G and 4K/UHD with pan/zoom technology. And for the most versatile, real-time editing for SD/HD/3D and 4K/UHD, EDIUS editing software will be showcased for use in broadcast news, news magazine content, studio programs, as well as corporate, documentary and theatrical productions.

Attendees in need of a full set of production tools in one application will find GV STRATUS that helps to manage entertainment, on-air operations and news production workflows to keep broadcasters competitive. And finally, in the area of shared storage, attendees will see K2 Central TX, an extension of the K2 storage line that provides a cost-effective, easy to integrate shared storage solution designed for transmission and playout applications. K2 Central TX supports up to five K2 Summit 3G Transmission Clients for up to 20 simultaneous HD channels and more than 800 hours of storage at 100 Mb/s.
