New executive hires strengthen AREWA24 s commercial team --

AREWA24, the first 24/7 free-to-air Hausa-language satellite television channel, produced by and for the Hausa speaking communities of Nigeria and West Africa, announces new additions to the companys commercial team. Joining the channels executive ranks is Celestine Umeibe, a veteran of Nigerias television and media sectors and one of the countrys and Africas bright young media talents. Umeibe will head up AREWA24s commercial activities, which include advertising sales, agency relationships, corporate partnerships, marketing and channel distribution. Based in Lagos, Umeibe will report to Jacob Arback, AREWA24s President.

Celestine Umeibe brings a track record of success in television, pay-TV distribution, brand management, marketing communications, advertising sales and public relations. Prior to joining AREWA24, Umeibe served as public relations manager at Continental Broadcasting Service, the owners of TVC News, TVC Entertainment, and Radio Continental 102.3 FM. Umeibe previously headed up brand and marketing Communications for NTA-STAR TV NETWORK LIMITED (StarTimes), overseeing the platforms launch and growth in Nigeria and other African countries. Umeibe has also worked as a media/marketing communications consultant for several international and local companies.

AREWA24 president, Jacob Arback, noted, Celestine brings a high level of experience, a track record of success and an insiders knowledge of the Nigerian television market to AREWA24. I am thrilled to have someone of Celestines calibre join our executive team. I have complete faith in his ability to develop AREWA24 into the premium media platform of choice for consumer brands and distributors in Northern Nigeria and across the country.

Also joining AREWA24s commercial team is Florence Gabriel, who joins the channel after six years of service at TVC Entertainment and TVC News, where she worked closely with Nigerias top advertising and media buying agencies. Gabriel will be responsible for expanding AREWA24s consumer brand client base and providing the highest levels of customer service to the channels advertising and agency partners.
