Vodafone Germany and Ericcsson carry out tests of distribution of video on LTE networks Vodafone Alemania y Ericsson ponen a prueba la emisi n de v deo en un stream punto-multipunto sin carga adicional en la red en el estadio de f tbol del Borussia M nchengladbach.
Vodafone Alemania en colaboraci n con Ericsson, Qualcomm Technologies and Samsung, ha llevado a cabo una serie de pruebas con tecnolog a LTE Broadcast coincidiendo con un encuentro de la Bundesliga celebrado el pasado 22 de febrero en el Borussia M nchengladbach.
La tecnolog a LTE Broadcast, tambi n conocida como Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS ) no supone ninguna carga adicional en la red, permitiendo a los usuarios de tel fonos inteligentes acceder en lugares con gran concentraci n de accesos a canales de televisi n en alta calidad.
El servicio utiliza la tecnolog a de red de frecuencia nica (DVB-T) para distribuir la se al a un n mero ilimitado de destinatarios. El usuario s lo necesita un dispositivo LTE con una aplicaci n LTE Broadcast .
Como parte del programa de modernizaci n de la red de Vodafone Alemania, LTE Broadcast pronto podr a estar disponible en otros estadios alemanes.
Eric Kuisch, director de tecnolog a de Vodafone Alemania, admite que hay una creciente demanda de contenido de v deo de alta calidad en los dispositivos m viles. LTE Broadcast ofrece a nuestros clientes una nueva experiencia multimedia en movilidad. Esta tecnolog a permite que varias acceder a un mismo contenido de forma simult nea, por lo que nuestros clientes podr n ver los res menes de Sky Premiere League o contenido de v deo exclusivo en el propio estadio .
Thomas Nor n, Jefe de rea de soluciones de radio en Ericsson, resalta que esta primera prueba en Europa es un hito importante para el sector europeo de las telecomunicaciones m viles. LTE Broadcast pronto permitir entregar contenido ilimitado de televisi n o contenido de v deo a usuarios ubicados de gran afluencia como estadios o centros comerciales. Ser una experiencia a n m s emocionante poder ver la repetici n de las mejoras jugadas durante el partido .
