Popular actress Shoki Mmola, who is famously known for playing Celia Magongwa in Skeem Saam has revealed that she exited the educational soapie to work on another show.

Mmola who played the character for a decade also said it was time for a change.

-- SHOKI MMOLA BOWS OUT The educational soapie Skeem Saam revealed in a statement that the actress Shoki Mmola, who played the fan-favourite role of Alfred Magongwa's wife Celia Magongwa will be dearly missed for her impeccable acting.

Boasting a whopping 26 years in her television career, Mmola has been playing the character of Celia' on Skeem Sam for ten years and in that role has been one of the show's lead actresses, contributing to its accomplishments over the past decade. Always keeping fans entertained, Mmola has portrayed the character of Celia impeccably.

The statement also read that she will be dearly missed by fellow cast members, crew, and viewers.

We wish her well and all the best with her future ventures. Mmola will not be featured on the new season starting Monday 4 July 2022.

Mmola also confirmed her resignation on social media saying it was time for a change.

As I bow out of Skeem Saam, I bow even lower to everyone that has supported my work over the 28 years of industry and 10 years of Skeem Saam. Her to telling more stories.

The actress told Drum Magazine in an interview that she is already working on a new production.

I can't reveal much as yet, but I am an open book. I will share the news with everyone when the time is right. I just wish again to thank everyone who has grown to love my role on Skeem Saama and appreciate the support.

HER CHARACTER IN SKEEM SAAM' Viewers of Skeem Saam are saddened by her departure as her character Celia Magongwa's storyline was just about to get interesting.

Celia resigned from her job at Turfloop Hospital as an administrator after her boss Mr Kgomo made advances at her and wanted to have an affair with her.

Mmola's career of 26 years also includes roles in Rhythm City, Muvhango, and has worked as a casting director, gender-based violence activist, and fashion designer, according to the publication.
