MONTREAL, April 13, 2021 - Grass Valley announces that a suite of its live production solutions are central to GOL TVs newly upgraded mobile fleet and studios. In a large and complex multimillion dollar deal, the Tenfield-owned bilingual soccer channel has selected Grass Valley cameras, switchers, replay and highlights and IP routing and infrastructure - all fully integrated with third-party equipment - to provide an end-to-end workflow that will support live sporting events, live musical shows and news productions. This system upgrade equips GOL TV to strengthen its position in live production for LATAM with futureproofed capability, including IP and 4K UHD HDR.
The demand for live content is ever increasing - particularly for sports content - and the requirements for live productions can be very demanding, said Marcelo Craviotto, engineering manager, GOL TV. Having workflows that are reliable and agile is imperative to the success of our business. We wanted a one-stop-shop solution to handle everything we needed, and Grass Valleys product portfolio was our best option to achieve this. Grass Valley also enabled us to ramp up our mobile and studio productions and make sure we are IP and 4K UHD ready. Grass Valleys IP infrastructure solutions deliver efficient resource management and the scalable capability we need to provide an exciting service to our customers and viewers.
At the core of GOL TVs new studio and mobile production infrastructure are Grass Valleys IP solutions, including GV Orbit Dynamic System Orchestration and Kahuna 6400 9600 IP production switchers. The LiveTouch replay and highlights solution paired with the LDX 86N camera series allows the GOL TV production team to meet fans demands for more angles and ultra fast replays. Grass Valleys all-in-one media production platform, GV STRATUS, handles asset management, while the Masterpiece IP Master Control Switcher allows the team to work across multiple formats, delivers flexible audio capabilities and support channel branding and multichannel video program distribution. The Kaleido-IP video multiviewer ensures simultaneous video and audio decoding.
In response to consumer demand for higher resolution content delivered across more platforms, making the move to IP delivers a flexible and future-ready infrastructure that can be rapidly adapted as needed, said Nahuel Villegas, vice president, Caribbean and Latin America, Grass Valley. GOL TV highlighted GV I/O as a server for ingest and playout managed by Morpheus automation, along with the Vega series router, which delivers superior functionality when switching. Grass Valleys IQUCP25 gateways facilitate SDI to IP migration. Grass Valleys strong commitment to interoperability and turnkey projects means all third-party systems, including audio consoles, lighting, tripods, and cables, work together to create a complete system that meets GOL TVs needs today, tomorrow and for many years to come.
This project will be completed in Q2 of 2021.
