RT to provide comprehensive coverage of Budget 2027 on TV, radio and online

RT will provide comprehensive coverage and analysis of Budget 2027 across online, radio and television on Tuesday 6 October, with extensive reporting and analysis in both English and as Gaeilge.

Speeches from Minister for Finance Simon Harris and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Jack Chambers announcing Budget 2027 will be broadcast live from D il ireann on RT Radio 1, RT One, RT Player, RT News Channel and RT Raidi na Gaeltachta.

Presented by Fran McNulty and Vivienne Traynor, the RT News special Budget 2027 will begin at 12.40pm on RT One and RT News Channel. It will introduce RT 's live coverage of speeches from D il ireann and the programme will include comprehensive reaction and analysis of the Government's plans on housing, health, cost of living and other budgetary measures.

From early morning, RT News will carry in-depth coverage of Budget 2027 online, on the RT News app and across the RT News social media channels. Once proceedings are under way in the D il, a live blog on RT .ie/news and on the RT News app will carry the very latest updates from Budget 2027, with video capturing key moments of the day distributed across all RT news' digital platforms. RT News online explainer Budget 2027 at a glance' will give audiences a comprehensive overview of what's in the financial plan, while RT News' political staff and specialist correspondents will offer expert analysis on what the budget means for different sectors. Later in the day, RT 's online budget coverage will include multiple household profiles, breaking down how the budget will impact different families around the country. Live streams of RT 's television and radio coverage will be available worldwide to users via the RT News app, RT Player and RT Listen.

RT Radio 1's coverage of the Budget speeches will broadcast live on an extended News at One with Rachael English from 12.45pm until 3.30pm. Rachael English will host immediate reaction and analysis to the financial plan. At 4pm, a Drivetime budget special, presented by Katie Hannon and Colm Mong in will analyse the key talking points from the budget announcement and include an interview with Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Jack Chambers. From 10pm Late Debate presented by Cormac hEadhra will be live from Buswells Hotel next to the Houses of the Oireachtas with a panel of politicians and experts to interrogate the detail of Budget 2027.

RT Raidi na Gaeltachta will provide coverage as Gaeilge of Budget 2027 on L na C inaisn ise and T s ite. Both programmes will analyse the implications and likely political fallout of the decisions announced in the Budget and get reaction from public representatives. L na C inaisn ise presented by M ir n N Ghadhra will cover Budget 2027 live from Leinster House from 1.30pm. The programme will feature analysis from expert panelists: tax consultant Deirdre N Mhaol in, journalist ine N Chiar in, Head of Fiontar and Scoil na Gaeilge in DCU Ciar n Mac an Bhaird and Professor of Sociology in Maynooth University Se n Riain. M ir n will also speak to Minister for Social Protection and Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, along with other politicians, to examine what will emerge in the Budget.

T s ite will broadcast live from Leinster House on Budget Day, presented by Fachtna Drisceoil hosting a debate between Government and Opposition TDs regarding the details and implications of the budget, alongside in-depth analysis from their panel: financial expert and businessman Conall M r in; Dr Emer N Bhr daigh, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the School of Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge, Dublin City University; Kate N Dhubhla och, Communications Executive with Conradh na Gaeilge; and RT Raidi na Gaeltachta Political Correspondent Cuan Seiread in.

Nuacht RT will provide coverage of Budget 2027 from 5:40pm on RT One and RT Player, outlining the key measures announced by Government and examining their implications for households, businesses and the wider economy.

An extended Six One News, presented by Sharon Tobin and Eileen Whelan, will explain what the measures announced in Budget 2027 will mean for viewers and interview the T naiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris as well as the Opposition parties. Ray Kennedy will have updated reaction to the financial measures in the Budget on the Nine O'Clock News and will be joined by the Taoiseach Miche l Martin. On Prime Time, Miriam O'Callaghan and Sarah McInerney will put the key issues arising from the Budget to Health Minister Jennifer Carroll Macneill, who will deputise for the Finance Minister, and Sinn F in spokesperson on finance Pearse Doherty TD.

The Behind the Story podcast, presented by Fran McNulty and Paul Cunningham, will also feature a special bonus episode on the evening of Tuesday, 6 October, providing additional insight and analysis on Budget 2027.

Morning Ireland will continue the analysis on Wednesday morning examining the main talking points and reaction from opposition parties on RT Radio 1, RT Listen and the RT News Channel. Later at 10am, David McCullagh will be joined in studio by T naiste and Minister for Finance, Simon Harris and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Jack Chambers for the annual budget phone-in special.
