Aerial Video Systems (AVS) is on hand in Minneapolis, providing more than a dozen RF cameras for NBC's Super Bowl LII production and other events around the city. Although deployments of this size are nothing new for AVS, this ranks among its largest for a Super Bowl.

We are proud that AVS is selected to play an integral part for many high-profile sports and entertainment shows, such as the Super Bowl, says AVS President Randy Hermes. One of the challenges is to have success in a high-RF environment with frequency congestion and coordination issues.

One of four Steadicams that AVS is supplying to NBC Sports for pregame and game production.

AVS's baker's dozen of RF cameras in Minneapolis includes two Steadicams with return for NBC's game production and four cameras (two Steadicams and two handhelds) with video return for NBC's pre/postgame coverage at U.S. Bank Stadium. In addition, AVS is providing a Steadicam system with prompter and program return for The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, which will host a special Super Bowl LII edition from the Orpheum Theater on Sunday night.

In addition, AVS is providing two Steadicams and two handhelds for the massive Halftime Show production.

On the aerials side, AVS has delivered beauty shots via a fixed-wing airplane throughout the week and leading up to the game on Sunday. In addition, an AVS RF camera will be in the cockpit of a P-51 Mustang fighter during the military flyover at the conclusion of the national anthem before kickoff.
