At its Upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall on Monday, NBCUniversal showed off some new features that are planned for Peacock when the NBA makes its debut on the streaming platform this fall. Among them are key play highlights, games, and optional realtime overlay stats and graphics.

The NBA returns to NBC Sports this fall. It will mark the first time that the league will stream on Peacock in a national package.

Peacock will be the most fun and engaging place to stream NBA games for longtime basketball fans and new ones, too, said Rick Cordella, President of NBC Sports. We're bringing the same level of innovation, inspiration and commitment that we've brought to so many other huge sports moments and leagues to deliver an intuitive, interactive and reliable streaming experience that the full range of NBA fans will enjoy.

The first thing users will notice is NBC Sports' effort to throw you directly into a game trough the Live In Browse presentation on the Peacock homepage. Live game action will play in the background on the home screen and will instantly stream at full screen when selected.

Those tuning in late will be able to access highlights in Catch Up with Key Plays which is available on any device, including mobile devices.

In terms of enhancing the live game, Peacock Performance View is a viewing mode that leverages player tracking and stats to present the numbers behind the game in overlay graphics and tiles. These predictive data overlays can be toggled on or off.

For Monday's Peacock Exclusive Games, NBC will offer a curated show that places the viewer in a courtside seat. This Courtside Live feature is designed to display the atmosphere of the arena from one of the best seats in the house. It will also prioritize showing the viewer elements of the gameday experience like player arrivals, pre-game shoot arounds, and reactions of celebrities sitting with you in the front row.

Gamification is also a theme of the experience as Peacock will feature interactive ways to follow a game. Peacock ScoreCard is a real-time streaming experience that the broadcaster describes as bingo meets fantasy sports. Available on smart TVs and mobile, users will have the ability to choose a game card based on a team or theme, and then earn points depending on outcomes of the game. Personalized alerts for this game are also available and a leaderboard can be viewed.
