FIZ Karlsruhe now markets in-house version of USGENE , the USPTO Genetic Sequences Database, in EuropeAgreement gives FIZ Karlsruhe the mandate to operate as SequenceBase Corporation's marketing agent for USGENE in-house version / USGENE data available for customized subscription download / expert customer support
Karlsruhe, Germany / Edison, NJ, USA, May 2009 - For the purpose of promoting the USGENE in-house version more effectively in Europe, US-based SequenceBase Corporation and FIZ Karlsruhe have entered into an agreement according to which FIZ Karlsruhe will act as a sales agent on behalf of the SequenceBase Corporation. In this capacity, FIZ Karlsruhe will sell and market the USGENE database in-house version to customers and prospective customers of the SequenceBase Corporation in enterprises and institutes throughout Europe. USGENE is also available via FIZ Karlsruhe's leading online-service STN InternationalSM. Both offerings complement each other, but target different user groups.Scientists working in drug discovery operations, academia, and life sciences may now benefit from the customized in-house version of SequenceBase Corporation's prestigious USGENE database. USGENE is the ground-breaking resource for life-science intellectual property professionals, providing unrivalled searchable access to all available peptide and nucleotide sequences from the published applications and issued patents of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). It is the unparalleled resource in which to perform freedom-to-operate, prior art, validity, infringement and competitive intelligence patent sequence searches within United States gene patent publications.USGENE data are available in customized subscription formats to suit various in-house molecular biology patent information needs. The database can be implemented and integrated in other life science products such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Drug Discovery Platforms, Patent Portals, Web Host interfaces and other online information services. USGENE data can be provided in industry standard or customized data formats to suit particular in-house needs.According to the customers' needs, the USGENE database can be purchased by segments of data such as class, art unit, patent assignee, inventor, publication date, or any other desired fields. The entire back file from 1982 to date can be licensed; regular weekly updates are provided to subscribers within 3 days of publication by the United States Patent Office.An agreement between SequenceBase Corp. and FIZ Karlsruhe with respect to the offering of USGENE via the online-service STN International has been existing since 2006. The unique combination of prestigious STN patent sequence databases DGENE (GENESEQTM), PCTGEN, REGISTRYSM and USGENE gives life-science intellectual property professionals the ability to make business critical decisions with much greater certainty.
