Best picture nominations for the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards, which are taking place on Sunday 11 January 2015, are dominated by true stories, with four of the five films in the category - Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything and Selma being based on real-life events. The fifth movie, Boyhood is the story of a boy growing up, filmed in real- time over 12 years.
Foxcatcher star Steve Carell, The Imitation Game s Benedict Cumberbatch, David Oyolo from Selma and The Theory of Everything lead Eddie Redmayne will compete for the Best Dramatic Actor Golden Globe, along with Jake Gyllenhaal, who was nominated for his performance in Nightcrawler.
In the best drama category Cake actress Jennifer Aniston will compete with Felicity Jones who stars in The Theory of Everything, Julianne Moore from Still Alice Gone Girl s Rosamund Pike and Wild lead Reese Witherspoon.
