Grass Valley Helps Broadcasters Profit from Changing Viewing Habits with Powerful Content Delivery Solutions at IBC
MONTREAL, September 6, 2016 Audiences today have high expectations they want to choose what they watch and when they watch it. This puts pressure on every content creator, who must now find a way to affordably and efficiently deliver a variety of content across many different channels while monetizing it all. Its a costly and complex process. At IBC 2016, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, will highlight solutions designed to make it easier for broadcasters to create, control and connect content wherever, however and whenever it is consumed.

And while market changes are bringing new production challenges to broadcasters, they are also bringing some very exciting new revenue opportunities, noted Neerav Shah, senior vice president of strategic marketing, Grass Valley. iTX On-Demand is Grass Valleys new video-on-demand (VOD) /over-the-top (OTT) solution. It helps broadcasters and content owners streamline VOD content creation so they can scale to meet demand while maximizing revenue opportunities. Designed to automate VOD workflows, iTX On-Demand is even more powerful when paired with iTX integrated playout, ensuring live sports/news and special events are on OTT platforms minutes after the event finishes.
At IBC 2016, iTX On-Demand adds support for Kantar Media next-generation watermarking technology, which enables precise identification and measurement of media watched live or on a time-shift basis on catch-up TV, so that assets can be monetized much more efficiently.
Grass Valleys iTX Integrated Playout Platform has helped major broadcasters like CBC reduce operating expenses by 20 percent or more by providing an end-to-end playout solution. Today, iTX is powering the most watched channels in the world and has delivered more than 20 million hours of content in the last year.
At IBC, visitors will see the latest version of iTX, which includes IP I/O with SMPTE 2022-2 and 2022-6 IP inputs and outputs for a phased transition, with channels played out via IP outputs and via by SDI. It also incorporates Softel technology to provide a full-featured subtitling/captioning system that easily works with subtitle files from other major vendors and offers real-time preview and management of subtitle assets at the operators desktop.
