Naomi Soleil, a songwriting major and former Aspire summer program attendee, caught the coaches attention during her blind audition on The Voice. She performed Stars by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, getting chair turns from Adam Levine and Michael Bubl .

The folk-pop tune showcased her phrasing, which Levine complimented along with her fashion sense. Bubl admitted he didnt know much about that style of music, but thought she had a really cool, interesting voice.

Soleil chose Bubl as her coach.

As her private voice instructor [during the Aspire summer program], I remember vividly the moment she walked into the studio, says associate professor Cassandre McKinley. Her palpable energy-full of free spirit, earthiness, and authenticity-was striking. When she sang, it all made sense; her voice, imbued with honesty and power, was fiery yet vulnerable.

Our lessons are never dull-theyre creative, uncovering new dimensions and techniques that push her voice further. Over three consecutive semesters, Ive witnessed her maturation and evolution. She recognizes her gift but doesnt rely solely on it. Instead, shes hyper-focused on the long game-writing, creating, questioning, experimenting, and discovering herself. Her voice continues to grow more nuanced without ever losing its edge.

Soleil is the second Berklee student on this season of The Voice, following Boston Conservatory senior Bryson Battle on Team Legend into the next round.
