WAMCon Virtual Conference Held by Recording Academy

The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing announces that it is holding a Virtual Table session at this years WAMCon Virtual event, July 24-25, 2020. In response to the current health pandemic, WAM has moved its conference to an online setting for the first time. WAMCon Virtual will deliver WAMs leading panels, workshops and live demos in a safe environment and accessible format.

The Womens Audio Mission (WAM) is a nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women and gender non-conforming (GNC) individuals in music production and the recording arts. As part of the conferences Virtual Tables program on Zoom, on Saturday, June 25, from 12:30-1:00 pm PDT, Maureen Droney, Senior Managing Director of the Recording Academys P&E Wing, will host and moderate a panel composed of prominent P&E Wing members titled Producing, Writing and Beatmaking, featuring Jennifer Decilveo (GRAMMY and Brit-nominated Producer/Songwriter, and member of Recording Academy L.A. Chapter), Lynne Earls (music producer, songwriter and sound engineer, and Recording Academy L.A. Chapter Vice President) and Elise Perry (music producer/arranger, and Recording Academy D.C. Chapter President). This Virtual Table session will feature a brief overview of the P&E Wing, a short panel on the creative process (beatmaking, producing, and songwriting), and a brief Q&A.

For 17 years Womens Audio Mission has provided access to high level audio training for young women and girls, stated Maureen Droney, Sr. Managing Director of the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing. WAM is a unique, visionary-and successful!-organization that was created by the passion, expertise and persistence of its founder Terri Winston. Today, the WAM team services more than 2,000 young women annually, inspiring and educating them about the worlds of audio and technology. The Producers & Engineers Wing has been a proud supporter of WAM and its conferences, and we are thrilled to be involved in this groundbreaking new virtual event, which is going to help make the education provided by WAM available to young women everywhere.

WAM trains more than 2,000 women, girls, and GNC individuals a year in music production and the recording arts to address the critical lack of women in the audio industry (less than 5%). WAMs immersive experiences and transformative online programs have spread internationally, providing women with access to top leaders in the recording industry and an award-winning curriculum. Since 2017, WAM has hosted six sold-out WAMCon conferences in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York and Boston, reaching 800+ emerging women producers, engineers and musicians.
