100,000 apply for tickets to the Late Late Toy Show

The Late Late Toy Show has received 100,000 applications for tickets since the application process opened just two weeks ago, it has been revealed.

The application process for Toy Show tickets was launched on The Late Late Show on Friday, October 12th and the number of applications submitted hit the 100,000 mark today.

The Late Late Toy Show host Ryan Tubridy said: It is incredible, how popular these tickets are. Everywhere we go, especially now that we have taken the show on the road, I get people asking any tickets, Ryan!' It just shows how beloved the Toy Show still is after all these years. Good luck to everyone who has applied .

The news comes as The Late Late Toy Show audition tour finished up in Dundalk today, with performers travelling from as far away as Donegal to try out for a spot on Ireland's biggest TV show.

The Late Late Toy Show team has seen hundreds of young performers from all over Ireland in the past three days at auditions in Cork, Galway and Dundalk. They have been looking for the best of Ireland's young singers, dancers and musicians to take part in this year's Toy Show, which airs on RT One on Friday, December 2nd.

The Late Late Toy Show producer Katherine Drohan said: We have been very impressed with the acts that we have seen over the past three days and we have definitely uncovered some hidden gems who are going shine on the big night .

Earlier this week, the Toy Show producers revealed that this year's opening number is going to be their most ambitious ever. The number which will be based on a classic movie is so big that they have drafted in students from IADT Dun Laoghaire to help make their epic vision a reality.

It was also revealed that a three part documentary The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped screening in the week of the Toy Show will give viewers unprecedented access behind the scenes at the making of the biggest night on Irish television. Last year's Beauty and the Beast-themed Late Late Toy Show was the belle of the ball with Irish viewers with a total consolidated* audience of 1.56 million viewers and is the second most watched programme on Irish television this century.
