
A new Pepsi digital content video, directed by Chris Mantzaris and produced by Emmy Award-winning production company MRB Productions, which pays homage to Carol Channing's famous Super Bowl IV halftime show, marked its debut last week on Pepsi's YouTube Channel.
The eye-grabbing new digital content piece for Pepsi, entitled Twice in a Lifetime, revisits 1970's Super Bowl IV halftime show that dazzled audiences with Channing's performance of When The Saints Go Marching In. This historical halftime show set the precedent for the technologically innovative and celebrity-headlining halftime shows that American audiences expect today.
The content video set in a bingo hall features Rory O'Connor, an original attendee from 1970's Super Bowl and its halftime show. Rory is captured reminiscing on camera about that memorable day when Channing first appeared on the field performing a tribute to Mardi Gras and forever raising the bar on the way halftime shows are produced. However, what neither Rory or anyone else there is aware of is that it is not for a documentary about Super Bowl IV. The outcome is exciting, emotional and fun.

I knew that MRB would be able to handle both a tight schedule and challenging logistics, and we also knew from watching the director's reel, that Chris could handle not only a documentary format but could also handle creating the spectacle of the halftime show, says Senior Agency Producer Damon Webster who was brought in by The Barbarian Group for this project. This all came together very fast, and since I've known both Matt Brady and Astrid Downs for years, I felt confident that they and their team at MRB would be able to pull all the pieces together and successfully bring this to life.
