-- OMUHLE GELA: WE ARE PICKING UP' The actress Omuhle Gela, who plays Nomaswazi credits Uzalo's increased viewership to recent changes made on the soapie. She joined the SABC1 soapie in May to play the daughter of the show's villain Ninji Magwaza (Thandi Nyandeni).

It's my first time being part of a show that is aired on SABC1 and it's by God's grace that I started with the biggest one. I believe that the recent changes impacted the numbers. We are picking up and it's good.

Gela adds that the teamwork between fellow cast members and the crew also helped.

The cast members and the whole crew work together and they support each other. They welcomed us, as the new family, with warm hands.

The support from viewers is also amazing. I hope that the numbers will keep picking up.
