C te Ouest audio visual offers African TV programmes at DISCOP Africa 2015 --

C te Ouest, a distributor of content for and from Africa, will present ahead of DISCOP in Johannesburg, the 2015 to 2016 edition of its catalogue entitled United Colors of Africa, containing more than 250 new programmes from all over Africa.
One year ago, we were rethinking our business model in order to absorb the anticipated needs of quality programmes that would be created by the digital transition. In doing so, we have co-produced and acquired multi-platform copyrights for premium programmes, thus offering the richest catalogue of African content to our customers, explained Bernard Azria, founder, and CEO of C te Ouest.
Headlining our catalogue, is the thriller October 1 by Nigerian Director Kunle Afolayan. Winner of the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award, this movie takes us right to the heart of an investigation led by detective Waziri Dan (Sadiq Daba). A few days before its Independence Day celebration, Nigeria suffers from a series of atrocious murders committed on young girls. The detective Waziri Dan is immediately sent by the colonial government in the city of Akot to shed light on these murders.
The Getaway is a comedy series that portrays the hectic life of four couples whose lives and fates will become entangled in a funny way, during a stay in the hotel resort Le Meridian. The spin-off from the famous movie Getaway of director Desmond Elliot, the series presents an impressive cast with actors Ini Edo and Ramsey Noah.
C te Ouest will also present three programmes that will be released in January 2016, but are already available for pre-acquisition. The first one is Women of Courage, a five TV movie-collection that tells the daily silent fights led by wives, sisters, mothers, girls, friends.
The Nairobians is co-produced with the South African company DV8. This crime drama is inspired by the rich vein of Kenyan crime fiction. At the centre of the series is Tosh, a small time criminal with big ambitions. Addicted to the high octane world of crime, daring, glamour and sex, Tosh is ready to move up in the world, but finds himself instead beholden to the most dangerous kingpin in Nairobi, after his cousin Stevo botches an attack on the Godfather of Kenyan crime.
From the same producer, Chronicles of a Runs Girl is a TV series based on the serialised short novella written by Leye Adenle. It tells the story of Amaka, a young and pretty undergraduate from a less-than-privileged family, and her roommates of similar ilk, as they strive to make ends meet the only way they can - by exchanging sexual favours for money, and Lagos is the perfect market place for these young women. Life is a never ending party until London Boy swindles Amaka and she vows to get even.
During DISCOP, C te Ouest Audiovisuel will be located at stands E1 E2 E3 E4 F1 F2.
