The latest figures from the Television Audience Measurement (TAM) by the Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) reveal that Umkhokha: The Curse is still the most-watched TV show on DStv.

UMKHOKHA: THE CURSE' MAINTAINS FIRST PLACE BRCSA January 2024 figures reveal that Umkhokha: The Curse is the most-watched TV show on DStv with 977 120 viewers. Mzansi Magic's telenovela Qgeberha: The Empire trails behind with 862 172 viewers.

The January figures also reveal that Uyajola 9/9 is now the third-most-watched show with 858 953 while Rythm World's new telenovela, Sibongile and The Dlamini's gains fourth position with 790 756 viewers.

South Africans can't get enough of the faith-based telenovela, Umkhokha: The Curse which focuses on a gigantic church in KwaZulu-Natal, Ithempeli Lenkosi. It stars Deli Malinga as MaMzobe, Sibongile Ngubane as Difa, Nay Maps as Sphamandla, Hope Mbhele as Mabusi and many more.

DSTV VIEWERS REACT TO FIGURES AND STORYLINES

@Ayanda35951501: Keep it up #UmkhokhaTheCurse infact Rhythm World Productions and Tshedza Pictures are the ones running Mzansi Magic now. I don't know if I'm the only one whom noticed two from Tshedza which is Champions and Gqeberha .

@MavoSthe: Yup. They are having revealed the maternity and all recently, I'm struggling to see them creating another future plot that will keep us in suspense but let's wait and see. Unless, of course, #Mamzobe starts shooting some people.

@OupaMnguni: UMkhokha is a very demanding soapy from an actor/character perspective, not only does it require talented but also seasoned actors. But unfortunately, Gabi is still new to live up their character demands. She will get better I think.
