3 Screen Solutions has designed a new app for German news channel n-tv, embracing the HbbTV technology standard and implementing the app for use on multiple consumer devices.
HbbTV is increasingly popular among content owners, as the standard enables interactivity such as via a red button. By adopting HbbTV, broadcasters hope to allow viewers to more easily enter a smart TV web-connected environment on their devices. The aim is that consumers then have the opportunity to engage with the content owner's brand for more time, on more screens, thereby encouraging viewer loyalty.
3 Screen Solutions has a deep understanding of what makes a great viewer experience across multiple screens, and how to make it all happen seamlessly, commented Eva Messerschmidt, head of new media at n-tv. We were impressed by their innovative ideas and collaborative approach, and so we're looking forward to sharing the new n-tv app with our valued audience, she added.

n-tv offers its viewers the latest news on politics, business, sports and society. n-tv's programs typically feature a high proportion of live broadcasts and breaking news. It is also known for providing extensive business reporting on German television, broadcasting updates on the stock exchange, corporate news and topics of interest to consumers. For some years the n-tv has pursued a multi-platform strategy that keeps its viewers and users up-to-date on the latest developments via online, mobile, smart TV or smart watch.
