In dialog with our stakeholders, we have set ourselves clear targets for the future. The targets we set ourselves cover the aspects that are essential for us and our business model and which we are able to realize. In this way, we make our sustainability efforts visible and verifiable.
SGL Carbon defined ambitious targets in all three ESG categoriesEnvironmental targets
-50 %: Reduction of CO2 emissions (scope 1 and 2) by 2025 (base year 2019)
Climate-neutral by 2038 (scope 1 and 2)
Develop CO2 scope 3 target(s) until end of 2022
Energy intensity reduction by 1 % p.a., respectively, 10 % until 2027 (base year 2017)
Social targets
<2.5: Lost time injury (LTI) frequency rate by 2022
>90 %: Apprentice takeover rate (Germany)
Women's quota of 20 % (Senior Management) till 2025
Roll-out of Human Rights Policy; management and office workers training by 2022
Governance targets
100 %: Signature of Supplier Code of Conduct by relevant suppliers
Analysis of suppliers' ESG performance
No tolerance of compliance violations; supported by investigation and sanctioning
Maintain ISO 37301 certification
