Advanced Systems Group (ASG), a video, data, audio and film integration firm, will host two Studer Audio with RED Digital Cinema for Broadcast-Level Production events in the San Francisco area this month to highlight live event and broadcast technologies. On Aug. 18, ASG partner Thresher Communication & Productivity in Sunnyvale, CA will co-host a happy hour featuring Studer's 52-foot demo production trailer from 5-7:30 p.m., with free appetizers and beverages. On Aug. 19, the trailer will be parked at Civic Center Plaza across from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and lunch will be provided.
Studer's trailer features Studer and Soundcraft mixing consoles, JBL 7 series speakers, and BSS signal processing products. The main room is a 5.1 mix/demo studio anchored by the Studer Vista X large-scale mixing console, while the second room offers demos of the Studer Vista 1 and other digital mixing consoles. The Studer Vista 1 is a transportable digital mixing console, and ASG will offer a special trade-in promotion during the events.
RED Digital Cinema will have two EPIC DRAGON cameras onsite for visitors to interact with. Combined with the 19 Megapixel RED DRAGON sensor of the EPIC DRAGON camera, the REDCAST Module helps broadcasters simultaneously stream live in 4K and/or HD while recording 6K REDCODE RAW masters. Highlighting the camera's modular design, RED will showcase how the broadcast system easily integrates into any workflow with both studio broadcast and handheld configurations on display.
Live production remains a cornerstone of the broadcast industry, but it has also become an important tool for large corporate events, says Dave Van Hoy, president, Advanced Systems Group. These events are a great opportunity for hands-on demonstrations of Studer's audio consoles and RED's broadcast-capable cameras. It sounds like a red hot summer.
