Since beginning its operations in the region in 2016, Netflix claimed to have invested $175 million in film production in Africa.

The industry leader in internet video streaming stated in a report:
Expanding our business here is good for Netflix.
It did not provide specifics on the scope of its plans for Africa, although it did state that South Africa will get $63 million in 2022-2023.

According to the firm, Netflix's efforts in sub-Saharan Africa have so far concentrated on South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria, generating more than 12 000 jobs.
Shola Sanni, director of policy for Netflix in sub-Saharan Africa, spoke during a press conference in Johannesburg:
This is the start, we plan to reach more countries on the continent.
South Africa is the biggest Netflix contributor in Africa With more than 170 films, television shows, and documentaries added to the streaming service, South Africa is the biggest country on the continent that contributes to the site.

Blood and Water, the first South African programme to top the American ratings in 2020, garnered plaudits from throughout the world.

According to Netflix, the company plans to build on these achievements to expand its business, it continues to invest in local creative industries and give more and more African storytellers a louder voice on the international stage.
Netflix has made a major wager on broadening its output outside the US, scoring with shows like the Spanish sensation Money Heist and the South Korean dystopian thriller Squid Game. The business partnered with the UNESCO cultural organisation in 2021 to support six short films from emerging African filmmakers.

Season 4 of Blood & Water' renewed People have had enough of the narrative and editing by the time Season 3 of the programme finished. It was unfortunate that the cast was mostly criticised about their acting skills.
Blood & Water will allegedly return for a fourth season on Netflix, but not everyone is happy with the streaming service's choice.
An entertainment pundit, Phil Mphela tweeted about Netflix's intentions to renew Blood & Water. Phil could only confirm tonce negotiations between the production team and the streaming provider are to strike a deal for Season 4 were still ongoing.
